I just beat Control, and I was very disappointed in this game. After hearing so much praise, I was shocked at how boring and incoherent the game was during my roughly ten hours to reach the end credits. The combat was kinda cool, but got a little repetitive. The metroidvania elements were poorly done with all the environments looking so drab and similar. And the story moved so slow, with muddled dialogue and forgettable characters. And the game expects you to do a bunch of lore reading? No thanks. The story told through the cutscenes was boring enough. I’m giving Control a 4/10, if I’m being generous. Sometimes the atmosphere and graphical effects were cool, but this game was a big letdown overall. Why do people like it so much?
