Crisis Core Reunion -PS5- 8

I just beat Crisis Core Reunion for Ps5. I never played the original release on Psp, but my understanding is that this is a very faithful remake/reskin of that game, which is a prequel to the original Final Fantasy 7 on Ps1. Anyway, I’m giving Crisis Core an 8 out of ten. The story felt a little slow at first, but the later portion of the game does a great job of setting up FF7 as well as the Advent Children movie. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Rebirth game coming up later this year. The swordplay and combat system in Crisis Core is excellent. The slot machine is fun to upgrade, and grinding through the quick side missions gets very addicting. This game was originally built for portable gaming, so it’s easy to pick up and put down in short spurts. It’s a satisfying prequel to one of the greatest games ever made.
