Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie -Super Famicom- 9

I just beat Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie for the Super Famicom, on easy mode. Very challenging game, even on easy. I was having trouble at first, but then I discovered you can capture some of the enemies to help you fight and fly around you. Anyway, I thought this was an awesome shmup for the console. Great graphics, rockin’ soundtrack, and no slowdown at all! Very bombastic for a Snes shoot ‘em up and a fine example of the genre. It’s a spin off of the Macross Robotech anime series, which I remember watching 10 years ago on streaming, but it has faded from my memory a bit. I’ve heard that this is the best videogame based on that series, and I thought this was a great game. And I’m proud to have the authentic cib in the collection. I’m giving Macross Scrambled Valkyrie a 9 out of ten.
