Persona 5 -PS4- 4.5

Persona 5 took me 113 hours, and I was very disappointed. This is the first (and last) Persona game I will ever play. It started off promising with the premise of changing people’s hearts with a time limit, giving you a sense of urgency to complete the palaces. However, I would estimate that 50 of those 100+ hours of was watching a bunch of teenagers texting each other, REPEATING the same thing over and over, and then hanging out to eat sushi. I DON'T CARE!!! Why am I playing a video game to see that? I want complex plots about intrigue and betrayal, and war, and interesting stuff! Like final fantasy, lunar, or the Xeno series. Not 5 teenagers deciding what time they are meeting after school to go to eat sushi!!! I hate that much social fluff in games. Oh, and the music got extremely repetitive. I swear it felt like they played the same five songs over and over. The only song I really liked was “Blooming Villain”, which was a great track.

The battle system was good, and there were some good spots in the story with seeing some of the bad characters get their comeuppance, but everything was bogged down by some serious lulls. I was also disappointed by finding out who Morgana the cat was at the end. It was lame. I rate Persona 5 a 4.5 out of ten. I am shocked how many people say it’s one of their favorite jrpg’s ever.
