I got this last week for $12, and I’ve been hooked ever since. When Remember Me came out in 2013, it got some pretty underwhelming reviews. IGN gave it a “5.9 mediocre” score, and a lot of the scores on gamefaqs are in the yellow (lots of 4’s and 6’s). But I thought it looked interesting, so I picked it up. From start to finish, I could not see why this game was not worth at least an 8. It’s not perfect, but it’s very unique and damn fun, and I could not put it down until I got to the end. It takes place in future Paris, where people buy and steal memories. Very cool concept, and intriguing plot about the lead heroine discovering her forgotten memories that were erased. I heard the critics didn’t like the combat or the platforming, and I LOVED both aspects of the game. The combat in particular was very addicting, letting you discover new combos and mix them up. And the feel of it felt just as smooth and gratifying as other games that get high praise. The movie-quality music and presentation also added a lot to the overall package. This is a hidden gem for PlayStation 3, and I’m so glad I got it for so cheap. Worth at least an 8 from me, even if I am going to grade hard.
