Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice -PS4- 9.5

So I just knocked out Sekiro. (I got the “purification ending.”) Fantastic game from the same developers as Dark Souls. I loved the fast paced swordplay and the focus on parrying. This played very different from a Dark Souls game. Quite challenging, and definitely one of the harder modern games I’ve beaten. However, it was not harder than Nioh 1 or 2, overall. The last three bosses (demon of hatred, owl father, and isshin) were comparable to Nioh bosses, but the rest of the game was not as hard as the two Niohs. The first Nioh remains my favorite “souls-like” game, but Sekiro is still a wonderful game with unique combat and a beautiful interconnecting world. I’ll give Sekiro a 9.5. (The first Nioh and first Dark Souls get 10’s.) I just wish I understood what was going on in Sekiro’s story, but i don’t count that against the game. I never understand the story&lore in any of these souls-like games. I just play them for the deep combat, challenging gameplay, epic boss battles, and beautiful worlds to explore. Now that I’m done with this...I can finally sink my teeth into Elden Ring!
