Shining Force III: Scenarios 1,2,&3 -Saturn- 10

I finally did it. I beat Shining Force III scenarios 1,2,&3 on an English repro. Many thanks for the fine product, and many thanks to the fan translation team that helped bring this masterpiece to the United States. Too bad Sega never brought an official release here, but the fans did an incredible job. Two years ago, I beat the official American release of Scenario 1 (took 40 hours). And on January 8, 2021, I started playing the fan translated repro, starting over from scenario 1. Now, almost 2 months later, I’ve logged in about 175 hours and finally beaten all 3 scenarios. What an epic, with such a great story. The story was like the Game of Thrones of videogames. Lots of family drama mixed with big political stuff going between multiple realms...all while a cult is awakening a demon on the other side of the world. “Winter is coming”, if you will. Brilliant stuff, and great character development and plot twists throughout. And the gameplay of the Shining Force series is much more accessible than Fire Emblem or FFTactics, in my opinion. Oh, and the music was fantastic, too. Incredible stuff. 10 out of ten. Highly recommend...just be prepared. This was the most time intensive game I’ve ever played. Now, there is also a fourth “premium disc” that came with the set. Maybe I’ll play that at some point, but not now. I need a break!
