Kirby and the Forgotten Land -Switch- 8

April 3, 2023

I just beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I did not do a 100% run (I think I am at 74%), but I saw two different endings. The first ending unlocked a new world where you collect pieces of the big lion’s soul, and just now I beat that section and watched what I think is the official ending of the game. (The final boss was pretty tough! I needed a fully powered dragon suit and a full health power up to use half way through the battle.) Anyway, I liked the game a lot. It’s a breezy, low stress action platformer with a great deal of charm. It reminds me of the brilliant Mario 3D World, but more forgiving and less cut-throat during co-op play. I played about a third of the time using co-op with my wife, and it was a lot of fun (but sometimes made the bosses too easy.) I loved collecting the different abilities and powering them up in the Waddle Dee Town. It almost felt too short until I unlocked the last world, which gave me a good challenge compared to the rest of the game. And there is still a lot of postgame content to play through. This is a really good one for switch. Nice music, too. I’m giving Kirby and the Forgotten Land an 8 out of ten. I think it’s just as good as Kirby’s Adventure for Nes, which I beat last year.
